Dear Parents and Families,
I am excited to introduce myself as your child's teacher. My name is Russell Helmstedter. This is my fifth year here at DATA. This year I will be teaching four different courses: Math 8 CC, Math 8 Honors, Number Sense Math 7, and Number Sense Math 8. I look forward to working with and meeting the various needs of all students.
A little about me - I graduated from California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) with a B.S. in Mathematics with an Emphasis in Education. I also attended CSCUI for the credential program, where I received my Single Subject Credential in Mathematics. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking. I have had the opportunity to travel all across the Americas studying both Spanish in Mexico, and Portuguese in Brazil. I am also starting a Masters program in Curriculum and Instruction.
I hope that you feel comfortable contacting me with any questions or concerns you may have. It is also my hope that we will be able to work together to ensure all students are successful this year both in the classroom and beyond.
Thank you,
Mr. Helmstedter
